“Wearable Spaces” at The Downtown Gallery


OPENING RECEPTION: January 15, 2015, 5pm-7pm

Wearable Spaces, by J.R. Campbell, will be on display in the Downtown Gallery located, at 141 East Main Street, Kent, Ohio. This exhibition will run from January 14, 2015 – February 14, 2015 and there will be a reception on January 15, 5-7 pm.

Wearable Spaces, features installation and studio work by Professor J.R. Campbell, Director, School of Fashion, Design and Merchandise at Kent State University.

Campbell has been researching, designing and creating artwork with digital textile technology for over twelve years. His work pushes the limits of imaging technologies as they relate to clothing, our environment and the human form. Campbell’s art/design work has been shown in over seventy national or international exhibitions, receiving twenty awards, including the International Artist of the Year Award for the South Korean Fashion & Culture Association in 2010. Campbell has consulted for a number of academic institutions as they have integrated the technology into their teaching/research labs, and has published on subjects of design issues, controlling color and integrating the technology into the design process for textiles and apparel.

This exhibition is free and open to the public.
