Former CIA faculty in Painting and Foundation, Sarah McKenzie, currently based in Colorado, in 2011 was named by Modern Painters as one of their “100 artists to watch.” A prolific and accomplished artist, McKenzie has built a national reputation making paintings that deftly occupy the space between depiction and abstraction. Beautiful and strangely still, her work continues to affirm her place as “an artist to watch.”
McKenzie returns to CIA on March 4, 6:15, in Institute’s Aitken Auditorium ( home of CIA’s Cinematheque) to talk about her work and career.
