“Suddenly, I Didn’t Want to Die” by Matthew Deibel

M. Diebel

OPENING RECEPTION: May 8, 2015, 5pm-8pm

Kent State University Main gallery presents an MFA Thesis Exhibition “Suddenly, I Didn’t Want to Die.” by artist Matthew Deibel.

This captivating project deals heavily with Deibel’s involvement in the war in Iraq. His work addresses the brutality and anonymous nature of war through the pieces contained in the gallery.

This Exhibition also serves as a commentary for those of you that served with him and an exploration of his experiences with war and his reaction to those friends who have lost their lives.

During his time in Iraq, he encountered innocent civilian casualties. This thesis exhibition acts as a  remembrance.
